LTVT Upgrade Files
------------------

This folder contains a development version of the Lunar Terminator Visualization Tool (LTVT):

  http://ltvt.wikispaces.com/

1. The file

LTVT_vNNN.exe (where NNN is a revision number)

is an upgrade of the Windows LTVT executable which needs to be copied
(or moved) to the current LTVT program folder. IT WILL NOT RUN PROPERLY
FROM THE PRESENT FOLDER BECAUSE THE ACCESSORY FILES (ephemeris, textures, etc.)
ARE NOT PRESENT IN IT.

New and old executables placed in the LTVT program folder can be run
simultaneously, if desired. Older revisions can be deleted when no
longer needed.

2. The file

  LTVT_UserGuide.chm

(if included) is a revision of the LTVT Help File, which can be run separately
(by double-clicking on it), or from inside LTVT via the Help menu item, or in
a context sensitive way by using the F1 key.

To run the current help file from within LTVT it needs to be copied to the
LTVT program folder. The existing Help File will be overwritten (unless it
is renamed). Only the file currently named "LTVT_UserGuide.chm" AND in the
folder with the executable will display from within the program.

Note: many users experience problems displaying "LTVT_UserGuide.chm" from
within LTVT. This has to do with the Windows security software. The following
procedure usually solves the problem:

1. Locate the help file (LTVT_UserGuide.chm -- the icon is usually a
notebook page with a yellow question mark) and double click on it.
2. Instead of opening directly, you may see a message box with the
Windows security shield in the lower left and a banner at the
top reading something like "Open File - Security Warning".
3. To avoid this security check in the future, UNCHECK the box that
says "Always ask before opening this file".
4. Click the OPEN button. This will both open the help file
(outside LTVT) and mark it as a file from a trusted publisher.
